High-Quality Masking Marker Made in Japan
With the Kuretake Masking Marker, you can freely paint over your entire artwork without worrying about preserving small white areas. After your work dries, simply rub off the masking fluid to reveal the clean, untouched paper beneath. This technique enables a more dynamic workflow and expressive brushstrokes, giving you the freedom to focus on creativity.
Crafted with precision and care, the ZIG Kuretake Masking Marker is a premium-quality masking tool developed in Japan. Thanks to Kuretake’s many years of experience in art supply manufacturing, this marker is ideal for both hobbyists and professional artists alike.
This masking marker allows you to temporarily protect specific areas of your paper with masking fluid, preventing paint from seeping through. In watercolor painting, nothing replaces the brilliance of the untouched paper for highlighting reflections or delicate details. Avoiding certain areas with a brush can be time-consuming and challenging - masking fluid is a much more efficient solution.
Key Features:
-
Contains transparent light gray masking fluid for clear visibility during application.
-
Neutral grey tint of masking fluid does not interfere with your color composition while painting.
-
Water-based masking fluid is ideal for protecting lines or larger areas from water, paint, or ink.
-
Best used with watercolor paints.
-
Comes in a blister pack with one marker and an extra tip stored in the cap.
How to Use the Masking Marker:
-
Shake well before use to mix the fluid.
-
Press the tip gently against a surface to activate the flow—fluid will fill the tip visibly.
-
Apply the fluid carefully by drawing or writing on the paper. Avoid very thin layers to ensure easy removal later.
-
Once dry, paint freely over your work—the masked areas will remain protected.
-
After the paint and paper are completely dry, remove the masking fluid by gently rubbing it off with your finger or an eraser.
-
After use, remove the tip and rinse with warm water. If immediate cleaning is not possible, store the tip in water to prevent drying. Once clean, the tip can be reinserted into the marker.
